If you are limited on space, you can also use small file boxes with index cards for your records. Or you can simply use separate boxes for receipts, bills, and such. If you choose this method, I suggest that you use a notebook with a page for each contact. You may think that you can store all of your information on your computer, but inevitably, you develop a paper trail that you must keep track of. Luncheon receipts, gas receipts, lodging receipts, electric bills and more must be saved for tax purposes. Another purchase from an office supply store that comes in handy is a cork board and a white board. The white board can be used to write the daily, weekly, and/or monthly goals for your business to keep you on track.
