The Truth on MLM

What is the truth on mlm? Zelda separates the truth and lies here! I’ll discuss the top myths about homebased business and work at home jobs and what the real truth regarding these key topics really are.

1) One of the first myths you will encounter is that a lot of people don't think you can make any money in most mlm business opportunities.

The truth on mlm regarding this myth is that many people only make an average of $2500 per year with their mlm business. The part of this truth that is usually left out is that when you do the math, this averages to be over $200 per month. Most of these hobby mlmers are very satisfied with this money. They invest less than 10 hours of their time per month into their business, make more than $20 per hour, and get all their products at a substantial discount. This is why they became a rep with the company that they are affiliated with. There are even some mlm hoppers, who will brag about how they always get their products at a discount, because they join a company. Then they get everything they want in the catalog, at low or no cost. They also make a little money, and get a few nights out of the house without kids. Then, they move on to the next mlm business opportunity! If you ask these folks about there homebased business, they are thrilled to tell you all about how and why they joined the company or companies that they did.

2) Another myth is that some folks consider most direct selling companies to be a pyramid or ponzi scheme.

The truth on mlm is that, when mlms go bad, they ACTUALLY are illegal pyramid or ponzi schemes and not mlms at all!!! A pyramid or ponzi scheme only has one objective, to quickly bilk people out of their money, and get on their merry way before they get caught. With legitimate mlm business opportunities, the company only makes money if you build your business (and therefore theirs) by selling REAL products and services to consumers. There are strict laws and regulations that these legitimate companies must abide by.

3) Another myth that you will sometimes come across is that some think that you can only make money in these homebased businesses if you get others involved by recruiting or that the products are overpriced.

The truth on mlm with this myth is that there are many people who are very happy with the commission they earn with the sales from their products or services.
Many representatives with companies such as Primerica, PrePaid Legal, Child Shield, and Team National bought their company's program simply to use the services they receive.
Others set up offices, and represent their company with an actual store front, and meet with potential clients just like an insurance agent would.
The decision to represent the mlm company is because a person likes the product, the commission rates are higher and they could "buy into" the company for a lot less than most other franchises of their kind.

4) Many people think direct sales is outdated and unregulated. This myth is debunked by the fact that respectable businessmen like Donald Trump and Warren Buffet own or their company owns direct sales companies. These companies must abide by strict regulations outlined by the FTC.

5) Some people think that most MLM business opportunities require you to purchase LARGE inventories and that when you fail, you are STUCK with the stuff!

The truth on mlm is actually that ALL companies are required to buy back inventory if they are members of the DSA. Other companies have no inventory to purchase. It is directly shipped from the company to the host of the home based demonstration. Still other companies have no inventory at all. They are service oriented companies, an most companies these days do operate on-line websites so you can turn forms in electronically.

6) The last myth about MLM is that if you get involved in an MLM, you are just looking for a Get Rich Quick Scheme.

The truth is that most people who get involved in a homebased business know that it will take work and effort to succeed. In today's Wi Fi world, there are more and more ways to reach people and build MLM business opportunities!

Zelda-ism #1

truth on mlm, ponzi scheme, homebased business, mlm business opportunities

"You gotta believe that Donald Trump, not only is he rich and successful...but he's a real looker too. I got his life sized poster in my bedroom to prove it! Read his books, he'll help you distinguish the truth and the lies about a network marketing business...and that Robert Kiyosaki, oh my... he ain't no chopped liver either!"

SO, there you have some facts and figures regarding the truth and lies about direct sales so that you can make an informed decision regarding a homebased business or MLM business opportunity.
